Dear Congregants,
We are delighted to announce that Rabbi Kliel Rose will join Kehillat Beth Israel as our new rabbi, effective October 9, 2026. This timeline allows Rabbi Rose to conclude his role at Congregation Etz Chayim in Winnipeg with care while preparing to fully dedicate himself to our community.
Rabbi Rose’s recent visit gave us an opportunity to connect, learn with him and experience his warmth firsthand. The feedback we received from congregants was overwhelmingly positive, affirming our shared belief that he will be an inspiring spiritual leader for our congregation.
In Rabbi Rose’s words:
“I am deeply honoured to join the KBI family. My hope is to build on the sacred work already flourishing here, creating a space where every congregant feels seen, heard, and inspired on their Jewish journey. Dorit and I, along with three of our five children, are looking forward to making Ottawa our home and sharing in the life, learning, and mitzvot of KBI. We are excited to grow together and nurture the spiritual connections that make this congregation a true kehillah kedoshah — a holy community.”
We extend heartfelt thanks to the Rabbi Search Committee, led by co-chairs Arryn Mills and Dr. Jon Mitzmacher, the Board of Directors, and our congregants who contributed to this process.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Rabbi Rose, Dorit Kosmin, and their children to our community.
With gratitude,
Jaimee Mitzmacher
President
