Kehillat Beth Israel publishes the names of departed members and relatives in the Shabbat Sheet who are being remembered that week. All names that previously had memorial plaques now appear on our electronic Yahrzeit boards (click here) outside our Main Sanctuary, and the names that are being remembered that week appear on the board on the right-hand side.
If you have Yahrzeit and would like to have an Aliyah to honour the memory of your loved one, please contact Elisheva Brantz.
While Yizkor is not a service unto itself, special prayers are said four times a year during services on Yom Kippur, the eighth day of Sukkot (Shemini Atzeret), the second day of Shavuot and the last day of Pesach. To view our 2024 -2025 Yizkor book (click here). To view Yizkor service (click here)
Kehillat Beth Israel encourages those observing Yizkor to attend the full service, not just the Yizkor prayers.
Honour the Memory of Your Loved Ones Each year, we produce a Yizkor Book, a tribute to those who have touched our lives and no longer with us. This book offers a space to remember and ensure their legacy lives on within our community.
Now is the time to honour your loved ones by inscribing their names in this year’s edition. Each name entered is a lasting symbol of remembrance and respect, included for a contribution of $25. Click here to participate in the Yizkor Book.
